07 Sep 2009 - PS3 Slim Platinum games announced
Sony Playstation Europe has announced some new titles to help new PS3 owners build up their collections. These are part of an ever growing Platinum range of games - usually best sellers.
The Platinum game concept has been carried throughout the Playstation games consoles and today Sony announce four new games, which are:
*Motostorm Pacific Rift: I've got this and thought it was "ok" but not great
*Resistance 2: I've played the game at a friends and it looked good. I've only heard good things about this game.
*KILLZONE 2: This is an excellent game and I would recommend it to any PS3 owner of future PS3 owner.
*Metal Gear Solid 4: This has been given rave reviews and although I have only just bought it what I have played so far I enjoyed - a great gaming experience.
All four games have scored well from reviewers and deserve making the range.
03 Sep 2009 - Sony could add ability to play PS2 games in a Software Update
Sony has put backwards compatibility for Playstation 1 (ps one) games in the new PS3 Slim.
It hasn't been since the 60GB PS3 that there was the ability to play Playstation 2 (PS2) games on a PS3. Unfortunately it is not possible to buy a PS3 60GB anywhere as it was discontinued several years ago.
Many people want the PS3 to play PS2 games, and you know what, that's possible and will probably happen in the future on a PS3 Slim, let me explain.
The PS3 Slim already has the ability to play PS2 games if it wanted. Sony can easily allow users to play PS2 games in a software update on the PS3 Slim. Simple isn't it. The ability to play PS2 games on the PS3 was removed to keep the PS2 selling.
The reasons Sony took the ability to play PS2 games away in the first place was because the PS2 was still selling a little.
Sony felt there would be no reason to keep a PS2 on the market with the PS3 having backwards compatibility for PS2 games, therefore Sony removed the ability to emulate PS2 games from the PS3 to boost PS2 sales.
I really think that Sony will add the ability to play PS2 games on the PS3 Slim in the future, just once the PS2 stops selling, that is.
02 Sep 2009 - Sony Motion Controller for PS3 increases the consoles value
Sony has planned the release of a PlayStation 3 motion controller for spring 2010.
This only increases the value of the PS3 Slim.
With the upcoming release of the accessory, the Nintendo Wii will no longer be a unique console.
The motion controller for the PS3 Slim will be a more advanced version of the Wii MotionPlus controller.
I really think the PS3 Slim shows better value than the Nintendo Wii. When you think about what the high definition PS3 can is in comparison with the Wii and what the PS3 Slim will be doing in the future with the motion controller it really shows great value for money.
