02 Sep 2009 - Sony Loses money on each PS3 Slim
Sony is loosing money on each Playstation 3 Slim they sell. It was originally thought they would be making a profit on each PS3 Slim, that now looks that it is not the case. The original PS3 saw Sony loose as much as $307 per unit.
Kaz Hirai, honcho at Sony Computer Entertainment, spoke to The Times at last week's Gamescom and said that they are loosing money.
There are many factors may explain this; Sony has to pay a Blu-ray license fee for PS3 that it is selling because it includes a Blue-ray player and the PS3 Slim components may still be quite expensive because of the console's complex framework.
Kaz said that "If you're just talking about the hardware alone, the quick answer is yes".
I guess this shows what a great deal the PS3 Slim really is for the consumer. Here are the best deals.
